How Attributes Display to Guests

On Guest Web ( browser-based ordering)

  • If the “Display attributes filter to guests” setting is enabled in GXP > Outlet Settings, and at least one item in the Outlet has Item Attributes applied, a Filter button will appear at the top of the Outlet page.
  • Clicking the button opens a side drawer that lists all available Attribute Filters (e.g., DietarySpiceAllergens).
  • Guests can select one or more values within each filter (e.g., VeganMild) to narrow down the item list.
Example:
Selecting “Vegetarian” under the Dietary filter will update the Outlet menu to show only items tagged as Vegetarian.

Real-Time Feedback

  • The Filter button displays a badge showing the number of active filter values.
  • Items update in real time when the drawer is closed using “Apply”, the X, or by clicking outside the drawer.

In progress - Hide Unclassified Items Toggle

  • The drawer includes a “Hide Unclassified Items” toggle.
This determines whether to show items that don’t have any attribute values related to the selected filters.
Example:
If “Mild” is selected in the Spice filter, but Buffalo Wings has no Spice attribute:
  • Toggle ON (Hide unclassified items): Buffalo Wings will be hidden.
  • Toggle OFF (Show unclassified items): Buffalo Wings will still be displayed.
By default, unclassified items are shown.

Persistent While Browsing

  • Filters remain active while the guest browses within the same Outlet.
  • Filters are cleared when:
    • A new Outlet is opened
    • An order is successfully completed (except when using an Open Tab)
