First, it helps to think of an Outlet like a physical space, it has Collection and different delivery options, there are Taxes or Charges that can be applied, and Lead Times if you're busy, and many more options. The Order Outlet in GXP is where your Product Items will be stored when you receive the order, and it's how you interact with your guests. To create an Outlet:

  1. Navigate to the your Property in GXP and go to Setup > Outlet Settings
  2. Click on + Add New Outlet at the top of the page
  3. Add a Name and a Description, this will only show in the Browse Outlets page if you have 2 or more Order Outlets

The basics of the Outlet are created with these options, below is more information on how the remaining features work.

Interval Time: The default is 0, and whatever is set here displays as time intervals for your guests when choosing their own delivery time. When set to 15 minutes, it will look like the below for your guest

Lead Time: Lead Time can be used when your kitchen is busy and you want to set the expectation ahead of the user ordering, adding a numerical value here will then inform your guests that they should expect a time to wait for the order to be delivered. If you add 10 minutes, it will look like the below.

Allow Deliver Later: When set to Yes, the Change Time button is enabled so your guests can choose a time other than ASAP. When set to No, your guests can only order Deliver Now

Allow Deliver to Room: This should be activated and set to Yes in order for IRIS Guest Room to work, the Apps always default to delivering to Room and if disabled order and requests will fail to work.

  • If your Menu is synced through POS, place enter the POS Item code in the new field POS CODE. The price can be overridden.

Delivery Charge: If you want to set a Delivery to Room charge, apply this here and the guest will be shown the price in the Cart before confirming.

Allow Collection: When set to Yes, provides the option of Pick Up for the guest.

  • If you want to specify a unique location, ask IRIS Support to change the Static Content code of valet_product_label.pick_up

Allow Guest Messages: Required for 2-way Messaging. If you want to allow your guests to respond to the orders sent to this Outlet, turn this option on. When set to No, your guests can only read your updates.

Type: Choose 'Order' for this type of Outlet

Image: Set an image from the Media Library that will show in the Browse Outlets page if you have more 2 or more Order Outlets setup

Service Charges: You can set two types of charge, a flat fee or a tax. If you enter 5 in the Price field, it will be a flat £5 charge if your currency is GBP. If you add 5 to the Tax field, your guests will be charged a 5% tax, and this will be shown in the Cart. The below image shows the Cart with Delivery Charge, Service, and a Tax for illustrative purposes only

This feature is only available for non-integrated outlets. POS integrated Outlets receive Service and Tax charges automatically from the POS.

Predefined Messages: Used to apply some text against the Order Updates for your guest. We provide a few generic statements in the platform, and to apply existing ones to your updates click on + Add Message, choose a state like Acknowledged and from the drop down at the bottom a statement. New ones can be created in Content Management > Static Content > Predefined Messages

Delivery Location Areas: To create new Delivery Location Areas first go here: To then enable them for your Outlet, you simply click on + Add Delivery Location Area and choose from the drop down, and if you want to add a charge you can add this to the Delivery Charge field and it will be applied in the Cart

Outlet Opening Times:

Users: To allow your Users to see specific Outlets, you need to add them here. Your users won't be able to see incoming Orders or Requests if they are not added to each Outlet you want them to support.

You should now be able to set your different delivery options like Pick Up, or to Room, as well as apply Charges like a Tax, and change your Predefined Messages for different steps as well as add your individual users to the Outlet to look after the incoming Orders in the Guest Centre.
